Introduction
Pediatric, NICU, and psychiatric nursing department have 9 members (2 full-professors, 1 associate professor, 3 assistant professor, and 3 instructors).
The department accepts Master nursing students in pediatric, NICU, PICU, and psychiatric nursing. The majority of the department members participate in nursing PhD educational program.
Values and beliefs
Children: to train the students, throughout the education program of the nursing school, as professionally competent, committed, ethical, creative, and capable nurses who can identify and measure the aspects of development and growth in children and introduce pediatric and family care based on psychosocial needs of individuals and society from childhood to adulthood
Vision
The vision of the department to improve nursing education status by 1400 consists of the followings:
- A leading institute in pediatric, NICU, and psychiatric nursing education at faculty and university level.
- Taking part in generating and promoting pediatric, NICU, and psychiatric nursing sciences.
- Expanding the borders of pediatric, NICU, and psychiatric nursing sciences at national and regional levels.
- Dynamic and constructive interaction with other departments, universities, academic and research centers at national and international levels.
- Improving educational standards of pediatric, NICU, and psychiatric nursing at international level.
Mission
Training professionally competent, ethical, committed, creative, and capable nurses to help infants, children, and adults with psychological problems; and improving and preserving family and society health at different prevention levels; improving professional position of nursing community in Iran; and utilizing the latest achievement to provide research and consultation services to academic and students communities at the university, national, regional, and international levels.
Education field
- Creating a dynamic and creative learning environment for students;
- Improving the quality of theoretical and clinical education for nursing students;

- Improving cooperation with academic centers at faculty, university, national, and international levels;
- Improving and optimizing clinical skills of students through identifying their strengths and weaknesses;

- Establishing communication channels with the centers that need pediatric and psychiatric nursing services in society based to make a responsive education happen.
Research field
- Guiding researches based on the priorities of the country and national policies;
- Improving the quality of research works and directing them towards the research core of the department;
- Conducting interdisciplinary research projects with other departments and universities;
- Directing research works towards development of products;
- Empowering the department members as advisor, consultants, assessors, and researchers;
- Achieving and keeping the status of a research body and increasing the scientific contribution of the department at faculty level; and
- Increasing research interactions with nursing care research centers;
Management field
- Creating a synergic and supportive environment to improve the outcome of the department;
- Improving ethical virtues, faith, and respect to human dignity;
- Preparing the infrastructures and using novel educational technologies;
- Recruiting creative and active human forces; and
- Developing capabilities of the faculty board members based on scientific development in the field and national and international standards.
Service field
- Providing health and educational services to patients and care seekers in educational-health centers of the university and centers affiliated with the university;
- Providing educational services to nurses and officials of educational-therapeutic centers of the university and centers affiliated with the university;
- Providing expertise consulting services to different groups in the society to improve welfare and happiness in the society;
- Improving the quality of cares in psychological clinics and wards;
- Family center care with the main concepts of health and disease in psychological health field and the approaches to prevent psychological diseases and rehabilitate patients in the society.
