Declaration of Values: As part of Iran University of Medical Sciences, the School of Nursing and Midwifery does its best to maintain the status of the School in the country in line with Islamic values governing the society in order to realize the mission of the University. With the help of a dedicated, expert, and innovative human force, we consider the movement towards excellence in education, research, and social responsibility as a basis for the University’s progress at the national and international level. In this movement towards excellent, we will be guided by the following values:
- Spiritual qualification, adherence to ethical principles, and innovation: Qualification of every nursing and midwifery graduate is an essential part of the process of education.
- The Quranic verse “And those whose affair is determined by consultation” is the motto directing the performance of directors.
- Lifelong learning as a scientific and Islamic value (based on Prophet Muhammad’s saying, “Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.”) governs all levels of activity.
- Responsive education and promotion of students’ social responsibility are achieved only if directors and professors play their part.
- Maintenance of human dignity while dealing with all clients is a basic responsibility.
- The future belongs to those who picture a bright future for themselves by having foresight and do not fall into the trap of an uncertain future.

Mission: The mission of the School of Nursing and Midwifery of Iran University of Medical Sciences is providing higher nursing and midwifery education in the country and paving the way for the provision of optimal services to stakeholders in basic dimensions of the discipline, including education, research, management, clinical and community-oriented services, on the basis of the Iranian-Islamic culture which is, itself, based upon spirituality, ethics, and professional behavior, by training a wise, qualified, innovative, and interested human force while moving towards wisdom-orientation noted in the 20-Year Perspective Document for Iran and the scientific plan of Iran University of Medical Sciences at regional and international levels.
